WHAT WE DO

OUR PROGRAMS & PROJECTS

At Sikko-mando Association, we have various programs and projects aimed at promoting and preserving our cultural heritage. Our programs include community conservation, early cultural education, and cultural events. We also have ongoing projects focused on language and art preservation.

Community Conservation

We believe that community conservation is key to preserving the cultural heritage of our people. Our community conservation program aims to promote sustainable practices that balance economic development with environmental conservation. We work closely with other Canadian communities to develop conservation strategies that respect their cultural traditions and values.

Language Preservation

We believe that language is an essential component of cultural heritage. Our language preservation project aims to document and preserve the Oromo languages . We work with local communities to develop language preservation strategies and provide resources for language learning.

Early Education

We believe that early education is key to promoting and preserving the cultural heritage of Northern Canada. Our early education program aims to provide children with a strong foundation in their cultural traditions and values.

Cultural Events

We organize cultural events throughout the year to celebrate our rich cultural heritage.
